Office Interior | Shumen, Bulgaria | 2020 – In progress
The project turns a three storey guest house into an office and two apartments and designs the interior of the open office space situated on the first floor. Two zones are formed – a representative one with a lounge space and a conference table just next to the entrance, and a working space at the rear next to the backyard. The two zones are connected by а furniture unit situated alongside the whole space. It provides room for all needed devices, installations and storage space and thus, it leaves the other space visually free. This furniture unit becomes an unifying interior accent. Glass partition walls separate the office from the common parts and the kitchen. They provide enough privacy as well as noise and smell protection. In the same time they leave all spaces visually connected and allow free flow of natural light. This helps to widen otherwise the narrow and elongated space.
The natural materials (plywood, linoleum), human scale (result of the divided structure of the furniture unit and the glass print) as well as the soft curtains bring coziness to the interior and blend the otherwise cool office interior elements into more homey space.
